Uncle
Paul just loved growing vegetables, especially tomatoes. As a matter of
fact, he was so successful with his early yields, his friends and
neighbors would accuse him of painting his tomatoes, just to show off.
He
had early bounty yields that he gladly shared with anyone who asked, and
he only had two secrets to growing these tasty tomatoes, in addition to
the fertilizer.
First
he trimmed about a fourth of the leaves off the plant to keep the energy
in growing fruit, not leaves, and then he sprayed the flowers
with a little liquid kelp to set the fruit (alternate spray: 1/2 quart
vinegar and 1/4 teaspoon sugar mixed into 6 1/4 gallons of water)
